okay real talk — Netflix movie releases this month are kinda carrying my entire sad January 2026 so far and im not even exaggerating
im writing this from my couch in faridabad at like 1:30pm (yes i know its afternoon why am i still in pyjamas leave me alone), the fan is making this annoying clicky noise, my mom just yelled from the kitchen asking if im still “watching serials” (she means netflix), and honestly? yeah kinda.
so here’s my very messy unfiltered take on what actually deserves your precious weekend hours right now
The Actually Good Ones That Made Me Forget I Have Responsibilities
Carry-On (Taron Egerton + Jason Bateman airport chaos) bro i started this at 3am because i couldnt sleep and my brain was doing the anxiety speedrun it slapped so hard i forgot to blink for like 40 minutes straight proper tense, good twists, bateman playing the bad guy is so unsettling in the best way definitely top of the netflix movie releases this month for me (quick link if u wanna see: https://www.netflix.com/title/81595422)

Jason Bateman as the creepy bad guy? Unsettling perfection. Taron holding it down in the chaos? Chef’s kiss.
Back in Action (cameron diaz comeback + jamie foxx) i was not ready for the nostalgia hit felt like 2005 all over again but now im old and everything hurts its stupid fun, zero braincells required, i laughed out loud alone like a weirdo sometimes thats exactly what u need in january u know?
The One Im Pretending Doesn’t Exist Because Im Scared
that new horror one everyone on twitter is screaming about (the village cult vibes one) i saw like three stills and immediately noped out my sleep schedule is already dead i dont need extra nightmares thanks maybe next month when im braver (doubt.jpg) if ur into getting scared tho → people are saying good things on rotten tomatoes
The Surprise Feelings Punch I Wasn’t Ready For
The Life List (sofia carson one) went in thinking cute little romance thing came out 2 hours later with swollen eyes and an existential crisis its about all the dreams u had at 20 vs the mess u actually became at 30+ felt personally attacked in the best and worst way i ate half a family pack of kurkure after to cope
Here are some vibes of that optimistic younger self:

Then… reality at 30+ hits. The mess, the chaos, the “where did it all go sideways?” moment.
here’s basically me after it ended (blurry selfie, tissues, red nose, fake thumbs up, terrible lighting, very authentic)
Quick & Dirty List of Other Netflix Movie Releases This Month Stuff
